own pizza

The coolest crossover of pizza and Indian food that I never imagined I would enjoy! Each pizza came out to about $20, and had flavors such as butter chicken, chicken tikka, paneer tikka, and lamb. As someone who doesn’t know much about Indian food, the flavors and visual appearance of all 4 toppings were quite similar, mostly differentiated by the protein. The pizza also had a lot of cilantro, which I really enjoyed, though I’m sure they let you modify your choices. You should try it at least once before you knock it!

the location is a bit odd and off the beaten path, but the service and staff are super friendly and welcoming. they have limited space to sit, so plan on picking up. we visited in the rain so it was super. ice of them to bring it to our car. we had two of their veggie pizzas, and it def had some indian flares and spices. i would recommend the adding of ginger chili addition ( indian spices) 😋 also the ingredients were fresh and well propotion. i would go back to try the meat ones.

My boyfriend and I were very pleased with our experience at Apna Pizza! Their Chicken Tikka pizza Apna style was absolutely delicious, packed with flavor and toppings and cooked to perfection. Also, their fresh and flaky garlic knots stood out from the crowd. The host was friendly and happy to describe the menu. This location is not dine-in. However, there is roadside seating out front.

I understand this place is new so all of the highly rated ratings are family and friends of the owner but here is an unbiased review. I have had pizza in India and this is not very close to it. We ordered 4 medium pizzas and as an Indian person I should be able to taste a difference, but I really couldn't. The only one that tasted different from the rest were the butter chicken pizza. While all of them had some unique takes every pizza was quite busy and bland all things considered. Hopefully since this place is new they will tweak their recipes because the tomato sauce overpowers most of the toppings on their pizzas. Also they need to work on their crust to topping ratio because some of the pizzas just had too much bread, another reason why the toppings get masked. For indian food I expect a certain level of flavor and all of the pizzas were lacking in some flavor, whether it be spice or overall salt. You cannot just make butter chicken and put it on a pizza as it isn't balanced. Another thing is that the images on the website differ from what you can order over the internet which was really annoying because I knew what I wanted from the images and couldn't find the corresponding pizza while checking out. Which leads to the price, which frankly is incredibly inflated. A medium pizza being 20$ is quite crazy considering everything I've written above. I will return to this place maybe in a year and see if anything has changed, but overall not a terrible replacement for Pizza Palace.

It pains me to give this review, but I hope the owners can take this in stride. Food: We ordered two X-Large Pizzas, one with Chicken Tikka and one with Lamb. We also ordered Masala Fries as well. The pizzas weren't very impressive. First thing we noticed is when we got home, the temperature was quite low for something that should have been baked fresh. So we were unsure if the pizzas were sitting out for too long. The Chicken Tikka Pizza was okay. But to be honest, nothing stood out about it. There was a mixture of toppings put on the pizza, but the crust was unimpressive, the sauce not memorable, and the toppings too "diced" to TASTE the topping. I think because there is so much chopped on the pizza, every bite contained dried out ingredients, leaving out the moisture to bring it all together. Same applied to the lamb pizza. The fries were also kind of meh. The Masala seasoning was a little inconsistent: some fries with less seasoning, some with WAY too much. The seasoning had about 30% too much salt, so you definitely need water nearby because you will be drinking a beverage for a while afterward. The fries were also warm as though they were sitting out for too long, not hot out of the fryer. And this was the temperature of the within one minute of our order, not when we got home and they were much colder... Service: was great! The front management was super friendly to us, let us do a custom order to split the pizzas with onion/no onion. Friendly gentleman. Atmosphere: I liked it a lot. There isn't any indoor seating, which makes it even more important that the pizzas come out hot. Overall, I don't think I will be returning. That is, unless something drastically changes. I would suggest the owners try out Pizza Rosa in Gaithersburg to sort of see what I was describing. The crust is full of flavor, toppings fresh, never stale, and the pizza has flavor. I hope the business can see success in the future and I wish the owners luck!
